Helping Kate Sturgess raise awareness of Dementia
UK Wills is pleased to help Kate in raising Pledges to produce a series of Inspirational Films about Dementia to support the charity SPECAL.
Kate’s Dad suffered from a form of dementia, Lewy Body which presents similarly to Alzheimer’s but is also complicated by Parkinson-like symptoms and hallucinations. We can only guess how she felt when she heard the diagnosis, which came not long before her mother died in an accident. Faced with a steep learning curve to understand the condition and how to cope with and care for her Dad, she was put in contact with SPECAL (Specialized Early Care for Alzheimer’s) for help and guidance.
